Job Description

The Accountant is responsible for performing various functions, including but not limited to bank reconciling, general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

Essential Job Functions:
Posts and processes journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
Assists in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
Assists Accounting Manager in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaids; analyzing and reconciling retainage and accounts payable ledgers; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals
Oversees bank reconciliations
Corrects accounting errors and posts journal entry adjustments
Processes wire transfers
Provides back-up to other accounting personnel as required
Assist with other accounting projects
Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

Experience:
5+ years' experience in Accounting

QuickBooks
Advanced Excel Skills
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
Perform accurate work to the highest standards of accountancy
Able to complete work to deadlines with little direct supervision
Driven, self-motivated, and goal-oriented
Strong critical thinking and mathematical reasoning skills
Ability to work independently or as a team member
Excellent organizational skills
Great attention to detail
Good understanding of general accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
